Who Would Have Thought

Well, somebody sure was thinking.

I think the last couple of years I have been asleep when the New Year comes around and for the last couple of years I have just went through life or that year like in a daze.

Things came and went so quickly, like I was always running to keep up. Why? I will tell you why later in another post. For now, I will tell you what I did for New Years.

This New Year's I decided i wasn't going to fall asleep through the New Years. They say that whatever you are doing at New Years will be an indication of what the year is to bring.

Went over to a friends house and they had purchased the Wii for their kidos. This Wii program had all the fitness stuff on it. The program has bowling, tennis, golf, boxing and baseball. They had the bowling game on there. I love to bowl. I have been bowling since I can remember back when I was eleven or something. It was something my dad put me in so he would have an excuse to go drink at the bar inside the bowling alley. I became really pretty good.

So, I thought I would give it a go. Holy Cow! My freakin right arm is so sore that I could hardly do my workout this morning. My triceps were just screaming at me. I could not believe it.

I also tried the Tennis, because back in high school I played tennis too. Took me a few games to get the timing down, but I really did get a good little workout.

I am truly amazed at this concept. It is a great one in order to get our kidos up and moving. Now, I just have to figure out how to get one for myself. Hehehe.

Make it a family night, if you have several controls. It would be so much fun.

Happy New Year

My last entry for the year 2008. My Gosh, I can't wait til 2008 disappears. It has been a crazy year and one that I do not want to remember. I am tired of being broke. I just want the texas wind to carry 2008 far far away.

I have new plans for 2009 and it is not being broke. I would not call them resolutions because those don't seem to last, so I have to make a change for good.

I will still keep blogging of course, this has been the only thing that I am glad I found. I am thankful for all of the followers and people who just happen to come across the blog to say HI. It is totally awesome.

So, to all of my followers, I lift a nice glass of ? (you make the call) and cheers for the new year.

Movie Flop

Yesterday, my husband and I went and saw the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still", my husband had been talking about going to see it since the previews.

My friend's mom and sister were in town for Christmas and he mentioned that they wanted to go see a movie too.

We met them there early so I could go get my stale popcorn. Nothing beat popcorn from a movie theater. Stale? I don't think so. I can make movie popcorn at the house, it tasted far better. I got a Coke because I had just taken my nap from the three tall beers I had at B Dubs.

I know what a lush.

It is a good thing I took my nap because, that movie was sooooo boring, that it would have put me to sleep.

OMG, I kept waiting for something to happen. Nothing ever did. I love Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connally but I would have to give two thumbs down on this movie. Do not go waste your money on this one and wait til if comes out for rent before you go buy. You may save your money on "Burn after Reading". Now, that was a funny movie. Little strange but better than the movie I saw at the theater with stale popcorn and stale Mike and Ikes. Total bummer.

Coffee Anyone?

Well, we did not really have presents this year. Everything is too expensive anymore.
I did manage to buy a coffee maker for my hubby. My hubby is obess with electronics, tv's and coffee makers.

This one however is tha bomb! The Keurig Coffee Maker Elite

Unlike the other coffee makers this one does single cups. They also offer so many brands and different types of coffees. If can also make hot cocoa and teas.

The thing I like about this coffee maker is that if I decide that I want to have French Vanilla cup or a cup of tea at any time, then I don't have to make a whole pot. Love that.

Water is held in a reservoir so it only takes a minute to get your cup of coffee instead of having to wait. The little cups are called k-cups. What an inventive idea. Keurig has different types of coffee makes. They have a mini cup up to a 4 cup sizes.

I found you can purchase this type of coffee maker at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Target and even Lowe's my friend found one for his wife.

You can also make your own regular coffee too with a little filter basket.

So, you see you can please everyone in the house. I love it. Now, all you have to do is buy the Kahula and Brandy. :)

Happy Holidays.

Next year is going to be a great year. The best one of them all. I fee it.

Batman Has a Daughter?

What, Batman has a daughter. Well, my crazy little kid friend (who is 35) has bought the series of "Birds of Prey" What the heck is this is is trying to make us watch now.

Last time, well as a matter of fact it was 2007 Thanksgiving or Christmas can't remember which, I have slept a time or two since then, he made us watch the science fiction of "FireFly" series. It really was a great series of science fiction.

Okay, back to the Batman thing. Did you know that Batman and Cat Woman did the wild thing and had a daughter. Yes, that is right. Batman has slipped into the dark or stepped aside for his daughter to gain exposure. Her name is Helena Skye aka "Huntress"

Birds of Prey include Barbara Gordon aka "Oracle" after she grew up. She was "Batgirl" earlier on from 1966 to 1988. She was shot by the joker protecting Batman which paralyzed her from the waist down, so she does everything at the office with the computer and fighting behind the scenes.

Also joining this group is Dinah a young girl coming into her powers.

One hot police officer named Jesse Reese who the Huntress is very much attracted to and vica versa. He is no other than Shemar Moore. Yes, he played the gorgeous "Malcom Winters" from the "Young and the Restless" after he did this show. Very nice on the eyes. That was the only reason I kepted watching.

So, what I have to say is that this is kind of cheezy tv show. I would have never watched it on TV, well come to think of it, I didn't.

A nice series to watch if you are all cooped up in the house due to the cold weather.

Oh, I forgot, the butler from Batman is helping this trio too. He calls Batman at the end. It was really cool.

Batman: The Dark Knight

OMG! I just love Heath Ledger. It was such a tradegy to lose him.

My friend went to the store at midnight to buy this movie. He had seen it at the theaters several times, my youngest has also seen it several times, my husband went and saw at the theater with them two and my oldest saw the movie. What the heck was I doing, that I missed all the fun?

So, my friend went out of town this last weekend and I mentioned, Good, I can borrow the movie while he was gone so I thought. He said "Well, I am planning on taking it so that that the girls can watch it."

"What" I said with disappointment, knowing darn well, that they were going out partying, and I was not invited. They are not going to watch that movie. "Fine, doesn't matter, I will go buy it myself when I am out." I told him.

I bought the movie and my husband and my daughter and I all sat at home on Friday night and watched this hyped up movie.

I so loved the very first batman they did with Michael Keaton. I love him too. He is just too cute. He looks the same, but he made a great lookin Batman. Why couldn't batman come to my house?

Then, George Clooney had to get in the act and I liked him (but Michael has a place in my heart) with Batman and Robin. Can't know for the life of me remember who was in Batman Forever, Oh I just remember, I think it was Val Kilmer. Yes, he did a great job, but it did not really interest me.

This Batman however, was really awesome. I loved everything about it. It had a great story line and yes, it was dark. Heath Ledger played a remarkable and rememberable Joker. He really stole the main part I believe. What an awesome job he did.
This movie however is not for very young kids and use your parental discretion when viewing this movie. You may want to watch on your own time. Great movie. I will watch it again.

Here is Your Christmas Card

I just wanted to let all my blogger friends that I have had such a great time getting to know you through writing this year. I feel like I have something in common with all of you all.

Wanted to let you all know that you are the first ones to get a Christmas greeting from me. I have not even sent one card out. The time seems to get away from. I should just send everyone an e-card but that seems to be impersonal. I like to write a little something something in my cards. Is it possible to develop ADD at an older age? Or do we just call it something else.

Here is your Christmas Greeting.

Turn the Lights On

It is that time of year when all the decorations come out and the lights are on.

For a few weeks during the Holidays houses are lit by many differents type of lights. But, what happens after the Holidays? Christmas Lights come down are you left in the dark? Well, you don't have to be.

My husband likes to live in the dark, and sometimes I like to read or do some research and I can never find some good reading lights in the house.

I have found the solutions over at http://www.shopwiki.com/wiki/Lamps. I came across this site shopping for something else and I was amazed at the number of great lights that they have on their site. In my front living area I have a Norman Rockwell setting and I have been searching for a great Lamp replica for that era. Now, I am not the traditional type person and I like going outside the box, meaning bringing stuff from the outside to use on the inside. I found that Norman Rockwell Lamp that I have been looking for. I love the look of this lamp. The price is right up my low budget dark alley. :)

Now, for the reading lamp, I like the look of this lamp and the little sidekick that you can turn on and off just for the reading. Again, take a look at this lamp, perfect for the budget right now.

Do you need a night light for the kiddo? Perfect place to shop for some. Oh I found the cutest little nite light for any little tike. They have Football Helmet Lights, Little Lullaby Lights, Orange County Choppers, and the list goes on. Why do people always come up with the cute ones after my kids are grown.

I could really go on about this site but I think it is better if you go where the light is a little brigher. I hope you find what you are looking for. I know I did.

Happy Shopping.

Being Thankful

As I sit here contemplating on what to write and what to be thankful for, I went to lot of blogs today. I read a few blogs and some I just dopped a card on. You know how you come across a blog and you read it and you think I really like that one and have to remember where and what the heck name it was and try to retrace your tracks on how you found it in the first place. Very annoying, so what I decided to do was to really go back to all my FAV blogs and see what they were up to.

My first stop was Live Strong and Happy. Dr. Castro is such an awesome person and I don't know her but I just love reading your blogs. She is always so positive and she makes me laugh. Like the post she just did on Russia wanting Alaska back because of Sarah Palin. That is too funny, but she does have a point. I totally forgot that Alaska is just on loan. So, why on earth do we get to call it one of our states? Well, don't know that I am thankful for that because I did spend 4 miserable years up there freezing my fat butt off, which I have totally found since then. I could have gone somewhere else like Hawaii for four years, why couldn't I have gotten that assignment? Thanks Russia!

Then, I hopped on over to my friend C.C. Almon's blog . That girl is more of a geek than me. She is always at a computer, she has got like 500 blogs, how in the world does she keep it all straight. I am Thankful that I only have 3 blogs, plus 2 Myspaces, 1 website, a facebook site and an Arbonne site. I can't even keep track. Oh! I forgot, I have a cafepress site and a cafemom site. Oh, just one more I just thought about. BeachBody site. C.C. is always so uplifting on her site too. I just love going to her site and seeing what is for dinner. Also, C.C. has been using a stepometer and trying to reach her goal on getting in her steps walked. You go girl.

Next on my list to go see was Edge of Insanity by Sammanthia. She is really funny. She reminds me of my friend in town. She really think about writing some books. I would definitely buy any books she writes. I love her blog. She has a really neat family too. I am thankful for my great family too. I just love them. I totally would be lost without them. Sam took her son out to a movie and a bunch of popcorn. Got to have popcorn when watching movies. Have you ever gone to dinner and feel like a fat cow and can't eat another bite until you go into the movies and you have to have the popcorn. I love movie popcorn so much that I have my own popcorn machine at the house.

Heading over to Jamie's site and found some neat photos. I can tell Jamie likes to take pictures. she is really good at that too. Jamie is going through some tuff times and I wish her the best. I am thankful for my friends, and I am thankful to Jamie for coming to my StripTease classes. She always seems she was having fun.

My very good friend Holly has a neat website and very informational. She definitely inspires me with all the detailed information that she gives to me. I love talking to her face to face too because she is full of the Lord. Very faithful person. I love her. She can tackle several different projects at once alot better than I can. I am thankful that she gives me hope and aspires me to be a better faithful person.

The next fav blog is about a really cute couple. I stopped by her blog one day and I just fell in love with how at a young age she has been all over the place. She is so positive. I just love having positive people around. She always holds her head up high. Steph and Ben are a great couple. She has posted a great recipe too. Looks good for the upcoming dinner. Differently a great post.

I dropped by Connected 2 Christ and it is so cute with the holiday theme. She has some really neat holiday picks and the most important thing of all is that she points out the God does love us. Hop on over to her site if you get a chance during the break before football.

Lee is the lastest blogger to follow me and I have to tell you if you want to read some really good stories this blog has it all. Lee's Senior Moments is so much fun to read and has some really awesome links to other good sites. I am thankful for Lee for dropping by every once in a while. Lee I do enjoy your stories.

I love Reality TV and I just so happened to come across a site who truly keeps up with them all. I just don't know how because man, there are so many Reality TV shows around anymore, that I just can't keep up with them all unless they have a marathon on or something. I am thankful for all the marathons so that I can catch up. Thanks to this blog I can, I don't get to hop over there too much, but I like it.

Along with Reality TV I love fitness and 5 Minutes for Mom tells us how to put the Turkey down and be thankful for our bodies. Thankful that I can walk, do jacks, push-ups and to use my mind. Thank you 5 minutes for Mom, thank was some great information. They are having a Christmas five away.

If I love snow I would definitely would live in Colorado or Montana. Blogging Us is a great blog for showing us all about Colorado. I love the stories that come from this blog. I haven't visited them too much lately along with everyone else, but I do like dropping by and seeing what she is writing about. Go check them out too.

I am a jack of all trades. I have an interest in photography and interior designing. I found this really cool site in decorating. This site is called Desire to Inspire, this blog is really cool. I know I use that word alot. Very inspiring and gives me lots of ideas to bring either into my studio or my own home. I think it is a site to take a look at.

So there you go, some of my favorite blogs and I am Thankful that they inspire me to do more and take action for whatever it is.

To all the bloggers, keep writing and keep giving us information on yourself so that others can be inspired just like I have.

Just Feeling Sick! :(

Well, I am not really sick like flu or bug or anything with me physically.

Okay, Sunday was a good day. I was able to update my other blogs and put pictures on them on the web from my computer.

Last week, I had a friend of mine check out my computer and he found 10 viruses on the darn thing. He did not find anything on my external hard drive which was good because my whole life was on that hard drive. Did you happen to notice that I said "WAS"

Well, I just don't know, there I was sitting and typing and getting ready to print out some registration forms that I need for my studio when I double click like normal and it gave me an error. "Can't find path" WHAT? I know it is in there, I can see it. You stupid computer, why can't you find it. It is right there.

So, I thought, well maybe since I plugged in the external hard drive in after I booted the computer up, so I did a reboot. Well, now the stupid computer can't even find my external hard drive, well no I take that back. It found the hard drive but the disk is not formatted. "Would you like to format the disk", it keep asking. Well, OK! Then it gives me a warning that if I format it, I will lose all my data. Well, I LOST ALL OF MY LIFE! GONE! LIKE A BLINK OF AN EYE! POOOOOF! By this time I am furious.

A soccer ball is the last thing I want to be kicking, but I thought it said it. Finally, I said Ok, go ahead, since ALL MY DATA IS GONE ANYWAY! Hence the touch of anger i built up. So, I click yes, what! another error. "Sorry, the disk can not be formatted because of something stupid. I can't even remember what it said I was so mad.

Four years of my life, just gone like that. WTF! I now have to recreate everything. Okay, for some you geeks out there. I do not have a mirror drive. That drive was messed up too a while back, so I am totally working off one main hard drive and now a new external hard drive I had before to put in another computer. Oh, by the way, my external hard drive that I bought will not work in the computer I have because it does not have the same connectors.

You know it really could be worse. I think I need some chocolate or just a really good alcohol beverage. No, cause I have to go teach. For my birthday next week, I am having a good stiff drink. I think I deserve that. Yea ME!

What is Wrong with This Picture?

Who says that we can't all just live together?

I used to watch the Tom and Jerry show (cartoon) and I totally love it. I still do and I think the mouse is just so cute. Well, the mouse is always teasing the cat. The cat is always trying to out smart the mouse. Right!

Okay, in the Sylvester and Tweetie cartoon, the cat is always trying to get the bird. The bird is always teasing the cat.

Well, not in my house. Take a look.

Here is my sweet 12 inch beagle sleeping with my daughter on one side of the bed and the cat on the other side. All is good at night time. :)

Here is my Tweetie and Sylvester. Ed (the parrot) was not even upset that the cat was near. The cat (snowflake) was sitting on my lap just moments ago before the picture.

Now, tell me we can' t all live together.

I thought about bringin the duck in (Aflac) to sit and poop all over me for a Kodak moment. I was voted against that moment.

Oh! such happy time at my little West Texas Redneck House. What next.

We Have Fire!

Yes, we have made fire in the backyard. I know, bunch of rednecks.

My girls wanted to make smores. What! I said, I think my hubby must have been drinking because the next thing I know, he is outside being Paul Bunin chopping on wood. HA!

He digs a little area and Wham we have fire! The air was quite chilly and so it worked really well. I think they were trying to get into the Halloween spirit. Now, where are those ghost.

So, after I finished working on my Red, White and Blue Turbo shirt and being the crafty mom that I am, I joined the group. Enjoy the pictures.
Now this one above looks freaky!

I thought Sam you might enjoy this too.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween. My daughter and the guy standing are going to dress up as Batman and Batgirl. They look really good. I will have pictures of the exciting event. They are suppose to be off riding the scooter. Should be hilarious.

What to Write!

I tell you that I have been in a little slump lately. Actually, my life is a little boring right now.
I was in the process of looking at other people's post and such and it finally dawned on me what to write. Then, my caffeine has not kicked in and I received a phone call and my train has wrecked. I can not for the life of me think or remember what the heck I was going to write about.

Well, anyhow, I really hate Uncle Sam. I put an extension on my taxes because I really did not for one want to do them and secondly I knew I would owe the old man some money. Well, that time came last week and boy was I in a shock. What the heck am I going to do now. They say that some people really lose weight when they are depressed. I am wondering why in the heck I am not thin. Well, probably I just shake it off and go about my business and not worry about. I did however, cancel class that evening so that I could get the taxes mailed off. Don't know how I am going to pay but I got them mailed off in time. :) They said send a check. Okay, is there supposed to be money in the bank for that? Just kidding! Well, no check, because no money. Now what?

Still, can't think of what it is yet. Nothing has jogged my spaceful brain. Nothing up there to hold it there. I thought exercise was suppose to help in this area. What am I missing?

I am still waiting. You think I am kidding. I am literally sitting in my chair typing and nothing is coming. You know what. I think I will try again tomorrow. It is just not working. Meanwhile, why don't you enjoy some cute pictures.

Just one of our ducks (AFLAC) Okay we really have two ducks.

This is my baby. Sammie. She is just a sweetheart little girl. (12 inch Beagle)

She can't believe that Skylar is getting to eat and not her.

she is bored, I guess she decided to chase after the duck.

Oh, I finally remember what it was. I guess it will have to wait now until the next post. I should write it down, so that I can remember what it was.

Have a great day. Remember to go vote.

American Heart Walk!

Okay everyone, the day finally came and then went. I was just amazed at all the people who have took this cause seriously. I sponsored my group and sponsored the PHSSN (Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing) also. They had red shirts and they looked great. This event has grown over the years. The association had several vendors out there this year. I was supposed to do the warm-up but everyone just started to start walking once all the announcements were done. They don't seem the importance of warming up and stretching even after they walk. Well, at least they came out to walk and enjoy the day. What a gorgeous day for this event. Right after the event the wind really picked up. Go figure. Like the wind doesn't blow in West Texas. Anyhow, we got the walk done before the wind picked up. Enjoy the pictures.

You always need to be friends with your insurance people. HA! I guess he was there in case someone went down.

This was such a nice event this year.

HOT, HOT, HOT

I love this time of year. Not too hot. Every year for the past 14 years the balloons have come to Abilene. Now, it is nothing like New Mexico. One of these days I want to go there and watch all the hot air balloons. It is really big there. Here there is just a few but I do enjoy getting out and watching the balloon glow at night. It is amazing. Check out my pictures.

I one thing that I wanted to see was the kites with the lights on at night. Those guys are awesome. How do they not get all tangled up. It is truly amazing. If it was too windy then the balloons would not have been able to light up. But the kites would have been able to fly. since the wind was no where then the balloons were able to light up. Can't have both.

What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

Wow, this is really cool. I am so all of these things. I love my name.

What Penny Means
You are influential and persuasive. You tend to have a lot of power over people.
Generally, you use your powers for good. You excel at solving other people's problems.
Occasionally, you do get a little selfish and persuade people to do things that are only in your interest.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

Please Donate

It has been a week that I have put the word out about the American Heart Association walk that we are doing in Abilene.

I really need some funds here people. My bank is dry. I am asking you to please donate a little to help this cause.

I believe so much in keeping our bodies healthy. One day it maybe you who needs the help. I know that most of you do not want that but if it happens wouldn't you want to know that you helped put money in the bank for your life to be saved.

I realized that with all the things going on that it is really difficult to try and donate. Have you ever heard of the phase "Pay it Forward?" Do good for someone and in turn will come back to you.

Now, please help me out everyone. Go to this link: https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=256504&lis=0&kntae256504=82694DF9E48B4C88A13D4AB4EDBE01CC

This event will take place on October 4th, 2008.

American Heart Association Walk

Hey everyone, I am so excited about participating in this year's Heart Walk on October 4, 2008. We walk a 5k and able to meet great people. I love this event.

I usually do this event but have not for the past couple of years. I don't know why. Being in the fitness field I believe in this cause whole heartdly.

Here is what the American Heart Association is for:

The American Heart Association is committed to fighting heart disease and stroke and raising awareness of these diseases. As part of our mission, we focus on specific causes designed to help people achieve a heart-healthy lifestyle. Each of our cause initiatives reaches out to the public with resources and information to help them take positive action.

So, I am putting together a team under my company. I am pleading with all my bloggers to view my team page and find it in your heart to donate for this worthy cause.

You can donate online and the minimum is $25.00 I am trying to raise just $2,000. Tax deductible too, but the main reason is to help someone who has had a stroke or heart attack and be able to give them resources to help them live a better life. Won't you help me.

Here is my link: http://heartwalk.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=256504&team=3168152

It is just that simple. Love you guys.

Thank you ahead of time.

Whining Wednesday

As I sit here and try to remember the other day what the heck I was whining about, I am having one of those moments. The ol fart sindrome. CRS! That is so terrible and I am very young.

Oh yes, I still can't remember but as I was sitting on the throne just a moment ago, it darn on me what I could write about.

First of all, I was driving to a little town in Texas called Snyder to meet the people of whom I am going to be teaching a Personal Trainer class hopefully next week. As I was driving along, I really started noticing all of the Wind Energy Fan that are lining the once beautiful West Texas Landscape. They are freakin all over the place. Okay, so here is my question. WHY ARE MY ENERGY BILLS SO FREAKIN OUTRAGOUS? Can you please answer that question. Oh and here is another one. WHY IS MY ENERGY THAT I AM PRODUCING IN TEXAS GOING TO PEOPLE IN FLORIDA? I do not mind spreading the energy, but come on, are people's energy bill lower in Florida now because on the Wind Farms in Texas. Right!

I have some Ocean front property for you in Arizona.

Awe! Doesn't that look beautiful. Come everyone let's go. Let's get away from all this madness.

I mean come on people, I am really getting tired of this BS.

I stopped at the gas station there in Snyder, TX and paid $3.69 and guess what I was excited about that because it was lower that last week by about .50. What is the world coming to, if it is the end, then hurry up already.

Okay, just my two cents worth. Remember it is Wednesday and I just had to vent something.

Please don't get offended, I am all for saving energy but when it hits my pocketbook literally then I get a little upset.

This place looks worse than Idigo, California. I wonder what it looks like now, 20 to 30 years later.
